Collaborators

  • [1]The New Zealand Social Statistics Network (NZSSN) assists in the development of quantitative social science research in the academic, government and private research sectors. The network is administered by the NZSSDS team, and runs seminars, workshops and summer short course programmes in research methods and technology. Visit the NZSSN website for more information [2].

  • [5]The Australian Social Science Data Archive (ASSDA) was set up in 1981, to collect and preserve computer-readable data relating to social, political and economic affairs and to make the data available for further analysis. In 2007, it reached 2000 data sets archived. ASSDA provided NZSSDS’s very first data sets, having been custodians thereof in the absence of a New Zealand data archive since 1996. Visit the ASSDA website for more information [6].
  • [7]The International Association for Social Science Information Service & Technology (IASSIST) is an organisation of professionals working in and with information technology and data services, aiming to support research and teaching in the social sciences. Visit the IASSIST website for more information [8].

Other Archives

  • Council of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA) [9]
CESSDA represents at least 20 data archive organisations in Europe, and supports many more in the rest of the world - the CESSDA portal gathers data from a number of these archives, and allows keyword searches across them. Perfect for comparison studies and unparalleled for the wow factor. Visit the CESSDA website for more information [10].
  • Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) [11]
ICPSR was established in 1962, and remains the world's largest repository of digital social science data, covering a lot of ground in the United States. It also provides training in analysing the data it holds, and access to publications from them. Visit the ICPSR website for more information [12].
  • Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD) [13]
NSD is one of the largest archives for research data of its kind and provides data to researchers and students in Norway and abroad. It also assists researchers with data collection and analysis, putting them in the mindset of preserving data right from the start. NSD took over development of Nesstar earlier this year, further cementing their commitment to data preservation. Visit the NSD website for more information [14].
  • UK Data Archive (UKDA) [15]
The UK data archive is an internationally-renowned centre of expertise in data acquisition, preservation, dissemination and promotion; and is curator of the largest collection of digital data in the social sciences and humanities in the UK. It also supports NSD with the development and provision of Nesstar. Visit the UKDA website for more information [16].
