Welcome to the New Zealand Social Science Data Service

NZSSDS provides access to New Zealand social science survey data and metadata, with online analysis and download available through the use of Nesstar software. You may browse metadata holdings and individual variable frequencies freely, but will need to register to create crosstabulations online and/or to perform analyses or download data sets. We also have a wiki-style environment, intended for collaborative documents. This has a separate registration system - see the links below. Of particular interest is the Census Data Guide, published by Statistics New Zealand and The University of Auckland in August 2008, and presented here in HTML (starting during October 2008) with room for comments.
