Welcome to the New Zealand Social Science Data Service
NZSSDS provides access to data from New Zealand surveys in the social sciences. Full metadata are held in an interface using Nesstar software. Data sets are held in Nesstar's format but can be converted on the fly for download in a number of different formats. This 'WebView' interface can be accessed by clicking the browse link at the top-right.
Metadata holdings and one-way frequency tables can be viewed freely for all data sets. In order to view cross-tabulations online and/or perform basic analyses, you will need to register and then fill in a form to gain permission to access the specific data set(s) in which you are interested. This can also be extended to being able to download the data for your own external use.
Below are a few quick links for common activities:

Summer students adding value to NZSSDS
Posted December 3rd, 2009 by nzssds-adminThe COMPASS Research Centre is currently hosting students working over the summer to add value to the data archive holdings of NZSSDS.
Published journal articles associated with survey data sets are the focus, and we are intending to make these resources, and associated SAS program code, available in the WebView interface in due course.
