The New Zealand Social Science Data Service

NZSSDS is a multi-functional entity. It provides:

  • Space for holding data sets and metadata related to social sciences surveys in New Zealand;
  • Enhanced publications, adding value to journal articles and other publications around the surveys held;
  • Resources to support research methods teaching, including SPSS guidebooks written around teaching subsets of some of the surveys held in the archive.

Click About for more information on the workings on the data service.
Click Resources to browse: Enhanced Publications, Teaching Resources, Survey Metadata, or Project Outputs.

We are currently migrating away from the NESSTAR software that has hosted our main offerings around survey holdings; in the meantime, registration is disabled. Some survey metadata is stored in our resources interface, but mainly where it is referenced externally, and to meet our immediate needs. We hope to have a new system in place for metadata and data sets early 2013.
